Keys to Success Scholarships Due Soon

Seniors interested in attending Salt Lake Community College, Tooele Tech, Paul Mitchell The School, or Nightingale College should apply for these scholarships.  You do apply for these online in your Keys to Success App, but if you have questions on applying, please see Mrs. Dangerfield. These scholarships are all due on April 11th and will be presented during the Keys to Success assembly in May.

The details for each scholarship are below:

KEYS TO SUCCESS: PAUL MITCHELL THE SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP

Deadline:  April 11, 2019

Criteria:
-High school seniors
-Seniors must qualify for minimum requirements of Paul Mitchell Schools.-Interested students must submit a completed application and short essay.
Award:  $1,000 (multiple awards)

KEYS TO SUCCESS:  TOOELE APPLIED TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP (Seniors)

Deadline:  April 11, 2019
Criteria:
-High school senior.
-Seniors must qualify for minimum requirements of Tooele Tech.
-Students are required to certify that they are a U.S. citizen or a citizen of another country who is lawfully present in the U.S.
-Interested students must submit a completed application and short essay.
Award:  $500

KEYS TO SUCCESS: SLCC SUCCESS IN EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP(Seniors)

Deadline: April 11, 2019
Criteria:
-High school senior.
-Must meet the minimum requirements of SLCC.
-Interested students must submit a completed application and a short essay.
Award: $1,000

KEYS TO SUCCESS: NIGHTINGALE COLLEGE (Seniors)

Deadline: April 11, 2019
Criteria:
-High school senior.
-Must enroll in the Bachelors of Nursing program to receive scholarship.
-Must complete application, write a short essay and provide two letters of recommendation.
Award: (Three different awards) Presidential scholarship-25% off tuition, $1,500 off each semester for 8 semesters, $2,000 scholarship

Regents’ Scholarship Appointments

We have a Regents’ Scholarship representative coming to meet with junior students on Tuesday April 16th. If you would like to meet with the representative, please call the Counseling Office to make an appointment.  We only have 18 spots available.

With all of the changes to the Regents’ Scholarship, now is a good time to come and meet with them.  They will be going over the changes to the scholarship as well as making sure that you are in line for it. Tooele Education Foundation Scholarships

Seniors, there are four scholarships due tomorrow from the Tooele Education Foundation.  Make sure you have your official transcripts, (needs to be one file to upload to the application) and a letter of recommendation to upload.  Here are the links for the scholarships:

If you are interested in additional local scholarships, the scholarship listed below are due next Friday April 5th. Lots of money to be had!

TOOELE EDUCATION FOUNDATION:DETROIT DIESEL SKILLED TRADE AND STEM SCHOLARSHIP (Seniors)
Application: Detroit Diesel Scholarship Application
Deadline:  April 5, 2019
Criteria:
-Senior or junior graduating early from Tooele, Stansbury or Grantsville High school.
-Essay, not to exceed 800 words. “Why I Want to be a Part of the 21st Century Workforce.”
-Letter of recommendation
-List of community service projects that you have been involved with
-List of leadership opportunities that have helped you grow
-List of classes and work experience that you have taken that demonstrate your interest and desire to pursue a STEM related or skilled workforce related career.
Award:  $2,000 (3 awards)

TOOELE EDUCATION FOUNDATION: TOOELE COUNTY FFA SCHOLARSHIP (Seniors)
Application: FFA Scholarship Application
Deadline:  April 5, 2019
Criteria:
-Senior graduating from Tooele, Stansbury or Grantsville
-Submit your SAE plan
-Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
-Application, essay, one letter of recommendation (not from a FFA advisor)
– Demonstrated interest and / or aptitude as shown by success in the FFA program
-Leadership and community service
Award:  $500 (6 awards), $1,000 (3 awards), $1,500 (1 award)

TOOELE EDUCATION FOUNDATION: PURPLE INNOVATION SCHOLARSHIP
Application: Purple Innovation Scholarship Application
Deadline: April 5, 2019
Criteria:
-Applicants should be seeking special training and skills in the areas of manufacturing, design, marketing and project management possibly leading to employment at Purple.
-Must be a senior graduating in May
-Essay
-List of leadership, community service and extra-curricular activities
-GPA of 3.0 or higher
-Letter of recommendation
Award: $1,500 (three awards)

TOOELE EDUCATION FOUNDATION: PURPLE PATHWAY SCHOLARSHIP
Application: Purple Pathway Scholarship Application
Deadline: April 5, 2019
Criteria:
-Scholarship must be used at Tooele Tech
-Must be a senior graduating in May
-GPA of 2.5 or higher
-Essay
-Letter of recommendation
– List of experiences you have participated in at school and in the community, particularly as they relate to your chosen employment goals
Award: $500 (ten total awards)

You Still Have Time to Apply For the FAFSA

Seniors, if you still have not applied for the FAFSA, you still have time to apply.  If you are going to BYU, SLCC, UVU, Tooele Tech, Dixie, USU or Weber, make sure that you get your FAFSA application done.  You will need your 2017 taxes to complete this application.

Every year there are millions of unclaimed dollars in grant money.  Even if you think you may not qualify, this is also how you qualify for workstudy and student loans. If you have questions about applying, please come see me after the break.  School will be back in session on March 25th.
