October ACT Deadline in Two Days

Seniors, now is the time to re-take that ACT. The cost is $60 if you register by Friday the 17th. If you wait, the late fee is an additional $36.

If you are are planning on applying to the University of Utah, BYU, Westminster or Weber, please make sure to register for the October ACT so that your results are back in time for application submission. December 1st is the deadline for scholarship applications for these colleges.

UNIGO SHOUT IT OUT SCHOLARSHIP (13 or older)
Application: Shout it out Scholarship Application
Deadline: September 30, 2021
Eligibility:
-Must be 13 or older
-Be a legal resident of the U.S. or District of Columbia
-Be currently enrolled or will be enrolled by 2026 in a post secondary institution of higher education
Award: $1,500

MAKE YOUR MARK SCHOLARSHIP (kingergarten-12 grade)
Application: Make Your Mark Application
Deadline: September 30, 2021
Criteria:
-Must be in school in Utah
-Grades kindergarten through 12th grade
-Design a bookmark
Award: $1,000

DON’T TEXT AND DRIVE SCHOLARSHIP (9-12 grade)
Application: Don’t Text and Drive Application
Deadline: September 30, 2021
Criteria
:  You must be a high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior or a current or entering college or graduate school student of any level. Home schooled students are also eligible. There is no age limit. You must also be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
Description:  You will be asked to write a 140 character statement about texting and driving.  Finalists will be asked to submit a 500 to 1,000 word essay about texting and driving.
Award: $1,000

Sign Up for the PSAT Today and Possibly Qualify for the National Merit Scholarship

Seven Students Awarded National Merit Scholarships - Lee County Schools

This test is for juniors to qualify for the National Merit Scholarship. Sophomores can also apply to take it if they would like to prepare to take it officially their junior year.

Cost is $18

Test date is October 13th at Tooele High School

Do You Want to Apply to Southern Utah University for Free?

Hey seniors, here is a QR code for you to scan so that you can apply to SUU without having to pay the application fee. If you are ready to apply, go for it today!

You will need to make sure once you complete your application to come to the counseling office so that we can send your transcripts to SUU.

Also, if you are applying for the Presidential Scholarship to SUU, you will need to get that application done by December 1st. I have attached the scholarship index below so that you can what scholarship you are eligible for.

Seniors, Don’t Forget to Apply for Sterling Scholar!

Sterling Scholar Awards

Seniors if you are interested in applying for Sterling Scholar, the application deadline is October 1st. Here is the information and the link to apply.

Sterling Scholars are judged on five criteria: Overall Academics, Category Experiences and Achievements, Leadership, Service, and an Interview. The program covers all high school experiences from 9th-12 grades. You may include events and activities that will occur at any time during your senior year.

You may apply for up to two (2) categories by completing this application form.
Categories are: English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, World Languages, Computer Technology, Family and Consumer Sciences, Business and Marketing, Theater Arts and Debate, Visual Arts, Vocal Performance, Instrumental Music, and Dance.

There is no minimum ACT score required for English, math, science, social science and world languages.
There is no minimum ACT score required for for business, computer tech, family and consumer, trades and technology, dance, instrumental music, theater and debate, visual arts, and vocal performance.

The Due Date is 11:59:59 October 1, 2021.

You must have a valid email address; all communication will occur via email or phone with Mrs. Simmons. mcsimmons@tooeleschools.org

You may only submit once. If you feel that your application is incomplete do not hit submit. Write your answers in a word document for editing then copy them into this form.
